March 30, 2016 - Understanding Business Communications
Having effective and clear communication styles and tools are key for a successful business. Attend this interactive workshop to learn more about the different ways of communicating and how to use them in a way that is beneficial to achieve your organization's goals. Review emails, letters, one-on-one conversations, group discussions, and social media. Understand how subtle methods like tone of voice, body language, and social signaling impact the way you are interpreted. Finally, learn about the challenges in communicating and how to overcome them.
This workshop is facilitated by Beatrice Wong, Simon Fraser University.
