May 8, 2024 - SBOT Special General Meeting
Before the Special General Meeting the proposed motions and bylaw changes will be sent to our membership.
- Expanded Networking Opportunities: Members would gain access to a larger network of businesses and professionals spanning both Surrey and White Rock. This expanded network will facilitate more collaboration, partnerships, and business opportunities.
- Increased Strength and Visibility: The new Surrey & White Rock Board of Trade will have a stronger and more unified voice in advocating for business interests at all levels of government, leading to increased visibility for Surrey & White Rock Board of Trade members and more effective representation of business concerns to policymakers.
- Enhanced Resources and Services: By combining resources and expertise, the new Surrey & White Rock Board of Trade will offer a broader range of programs, services, and resources to support the needs of all sizes of businesses in both Surrey and White Rock, as well as surrounding areas.
- Streamlined Membership Benefits: Members of both organizations will benefit from a consolidated set of membership benefits, including discounts on goods and services, access to exclusive events, and promotional opportunities.
- Cost Savings: For those businesses who are members of both organizations, this means one membership fee instead of two! Consolidating administrative functions and overhead costs will lead to cost savings for the new Surrey & White Rock Board of Trade.
- Strategic Alignment: The merger will allow for greater alignment of strategic priorities and initiatives, ensuring that the new Surrey & White Rock Board of Trade is better positioned to address the evolving needs of all sizes of businesses in both Surrey and White Rock, as well as throughout the region.
