DESCRIPTION:The Fraser Valley Estate Planning Council invites professionals from financial and estate planning fields to the Tuesday\, January 21\, 2020\, dinner meeting\, for an Economic Update from Bryan Yu\, Deputy Chief Economist Central 1. Bryan joined Central 1's Economics team in 2010 and moved into the role of Deputy Chief Economist in 2017. He oversees the team's provincial economic analysis\, and author and editor of the flagship Economic Analysis reports\, weekly research notes\, and special reports. He speaks regularly at credit union and industry events and is frequently contacted by media to provide national and provincial economic commentary. Prior to Central 1\, Bryan spent three years at the B.C. Real Estate Association building out the market analysis capabilities of the new function and conducting housing research. He also spent time with Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation as an economist in its Calgary and Vancouver offices\, and as a researcher on immigration economics. Bryan holds a Master's degree In Economics from Simon Fraser University and a Bachelor of Arts (honours) from the University of Manitoba. He currently serves on the boards of the B.C. Paraplegic Foundation and Canadian Association for Business Economics\, and is past-president of the Association of Professional Economists of B.C.
