If approved\, the proposed $5.4 billion project wold increase the capacity of the pipeline that transports a variety of energy products for local and international markets.\n\n\n\nThe proposed twinning of the existing pipeline\, in operation since 1953\, offers a wide range of benefits including new jobs\, procurement opportunities and other positive spinoffs for BC and Alberta communities - during the two-year construction phase and long-term operations.\n\n\n\nThe Trans Mountain team is committed to creating local economic opportunities along the construction right-of-way.  Norm Rinne will describe the various stages and types of jobs\, procurement possibilities\, and local workforce spending involved in building a pipeline.  The presentation will include a progress report on the proposed project and how businesses in the Surrey area can prepare to participate in the project.
